Along with the graphic design and photography business, Chelsea also runs two other companies. She runs her own online and in print magazine named Glam Rock Magazine where she helps promote up and comers and spread the word on alternative fashion and talent, which started back in 2009. She also runs her own clothing brand named C.TA Glam Couture where she sells screen printed tees, jewelry, accessories and handmade sewn clothing! C.TA is by far her favorite venture and altough its been going since 2006, she only started sewing in 2010 wen she released her first couture collection. Her collections get better with each season and as her business expands and knowledge grows, she becomes an unstoppable force!
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
My design is not just a state of mind or a specific look, it’s how I express myself visually. It’s one of the few ways I’ve found to communicate my vision of beauty to others. It’s as if each design is one part of this spectacular world i’ve created and as I grow, it slowly reveals itself to people around me. A world where everything is designed and nothing is “common” or boring. Architecture is organic and inspired by Art Nouveau. Furniture is functional but always made slightly askew to give you a feeling of a twisted wonderland. Art and design merge, as everything is made for a reason but the reason isn’t clear to everyone viewing it. Colors are bold and over saturated as they spill over contrasts of black and white accents. There is a right and a wrong but this world lives in the grey area cause it’s hard for outside influence to understand it. Nothing is impossible and hard work isn’t very hard at all. My senses of things are dulled for reasons I don’t know which is why I’m not happy or comfortable unless I’m living in an extreme. I’m not satisfied with anything unless there is both a tragic element and a glamorous one. The yin yang balance of destroying something beautiful, but still keeping it beautiful is my overall vision of beauty. Keeping that in mind while creating my designs and art is what keeps me going and makes me satisfied with my end result. While this balance is the style of my vision, the look is a little more complicated. While I can never do just one thing, I realized that the best way to describe me is “I do a lot”. I do a lot of things at once. I have the tv on while I’m playing music, I have to do the styling, makeup and photography of a photo shoot and I also have to have a lot going on in my designs. Creating something simple is just not my style and when I need to, I corrupt it as much as possible. In my world, there is no such thing as comfy clothing or jeans and graphic t-shirt days. If I had my way i’d wear crazy couture clothing reminicient of Rococo or Victorian dresses that have been torn and done up with ribbon and lace with lavish hair and makeup. I would have more time in a day than i’d ever need and I would never worry about my life as a melting clock. This world is my vision and my goal is to impart my vision of beauty onto the world in every form I see fit.
